One of the oldest and simplest of weaving constructions, Chilewich's four-over-four Basketweave has become the most important vehicle for expressing our unique color point of view – from deep earth tones, to shades of metal, to our personal interpretation of brights. Chilewich's signature Basketweaves continue to be the foundation for our expanding collection of textiles.
Dahlia extends Chilewich’s innovative molded technique beyond the circle of experimentation. Acting more like a charger than a placemat, plates will sit surrounded and enhanced by the open lace cutwork it exhibits.
Lattice is one of Chilewich's few weaves that is woven on Leno looms. Chilewich's clear coated weft yarns become bumpy when extruded and therefore push warp yarns in an irregular line, with an overall effect that feels naturally random. The clear coating provides and overall shimmer often likened to crystal and jewels.
Chilewich’s Lounge placemats echo irregular modern shapes of popular mid-century space-age design. The design of the Lounge collection was inspired by Japanese textiles but it transformed into a pattern that became more reminiscent of mid-century textiles.
At first glance Metallic Lace appears to be real metal, however upon closer inspection it is clearly a very sophisticated and refined textile. The open abstract netting is 'metalized' to form the metallic looking surface and thus becomes a truly contemporary lace in both placemats and runners.
Mini Basketweave is Chilewich's signature Basketweave in half time. Instead of four yarns over four, Mini Mini Basketweave is Chilewich's signature Basketweave in half time. Instead of four yarns over four, Mini Basketweave is two yarns over two, resulting in a quieter, less textural surface. Available in a wide spectrum of colors Mini Basketweave will enhance and elevate every dining occasion.
Of all Chilewich's weaves, Bouclé most resembles a tweed texture one might find in a closet amongst sweaters, scarves or jackets. The colors for Bouclé are thoughtfully selected to accentuate its complex construction and provide a dimensional, rich and tactile texture.
This Metallic Lace table runner by Chilewich features a striking design, at first glance the metallic lace design appears to be real metal, however upon closer inspection it is clearly a very intricate and refined textile.
A sheer and elegant stripe is created by pausing the weft yarns while weaving in a highly planned sequence. The result is Chilewich’s most formal design to date, couture for the tabletop, the appropriately named Tuxedo Stripe. Though durable, more delicate maintenance may be required due to the nature of the open weave.
